Thank you to everyone who turned out to support the AVRP Site Plan at the San Diego Unified School District's community listening session on April 28 about redevelopment of the Brucker site at 4100 Normal Street.
According to the District, 150 people attended this session, and over 100 of these submitted signed posters to the District in support of the AVRP Site Plan.
While the turnout at the April 28th session was an excellent start, we need the community to keep the pressure on the elected members of the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education.
We have printed postcards addressed to each Board member asking that key features of AVRP Site Plan be included in the redevelopment of the Brucker site. These include preservation and rehabilitation of Annexes 1 and 2 and preservation of the two large heritage trees--the oak tree in front of Annex 3, and the ficus at the corner of Normal St. and Campus Ave.
50 sets of postcards have already been distributed to UH residents, and we have 50 more sets available for pick-up at Pemberley Realty.
Please pick up a packet of 5 postcards for yourself and your family members and neighbors from Pemberley Realty, 4645 Park Blvd., Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. and:
- Sign each postcard
- Complete the return address
- Affix a first-class stamp (not a postcard stamp)
- Mail by September 1, 2025
Thank you for your support!
